Coinbase was defeated in the Supreme Court regarding its dispute over arbitration in the Dogecoin sweepstakes case. Users highlighted that the exchange was involved in false advertising, which misled them into spending $100 on the sweepstakes. Although Coinbase had sought arbitration, the disputes were supposed to be resolved in a California lawsuit by a separate agreement. The Ninth Circuit and a federal judge ruled against Coinbase, and the Supreme Court upheld these decisions unanimously. Coinbase CLO Paul Grewal expressed gratitude for the Court’s consideration.
