A governance proposal to give Solana Validators 100% of the priority fees per transaction was passed late Monday with 77% of the Solana governance participants in favor of it. Previously, half of the fees in priority transactions were erased while the other half went to the validators, which led to side deals with transaction submitters. The full priority fees to validators will ensure the validators are more focused on keeping the network safe and running smoothly.
