YEREVAN (CoinChapter.com) — Pi Network has announced two key updates to improve its Know-Your-Customer (KYC) verification process. Users facing name mismatches can now appeal rejections, and those with minor phone number errors can make limited corrections.
The project’s KYC deadline was recently pushed from Jan. 31 to Feb. 28, continuing a pattern of delays. Despite this, Pi Network’s app has surpassed 100 million downloads, with strong communities in South Korea, India, and other Asian countries.

Pi Network users have faced challenges verifying their accounts due to name mismatches between their Pi Network account and KYC documents. Previously, these mismatches led to automatic rejection.

However, users choosing to update their Pi Network name must forfeit part of their Mobile Balance as a penalty.
Only users who have appealed once and been denied can access this option. The update aims to help those who have been rejected due to mismatched identity details.
Pi Network Enables Small Phone Number Fixes
Another issue affecting Pi Network KYC verification involves incorrectly entered phone numbers. Users who made typographical mistakes in their phone numbers faced access issues and could not verify their accounts.
Pi Network now allows users to change up to two digits of their registered phone number. This adjustment prevents users from being locked out due to small errors. However, the two-digit limit is in place to prevent misuse, including unauthorized account transfers, sales, or hacks.
“Allowing only up to two digits to change is to make sure the phone number change will not be exploited by policy violators,”
Pi Network stated.
